Friday I'm In Love is a weekly feature.
Highlights of what I loved over the past week.
Week = Friday to Friday.
May include things of a non-musical variety.
Porcelain Raft's "Permanent Signal"
It's no secret that I absolutely loved Porcelain Raft's debut album, Strange Weekend. With Permanent Signal, Mauro Remiddi's music has shifted from a beautifully blurry landscape to something with more clarity. His vocals have found a new home just a little closer to the spotlight and the consistent style of instrumentation has changed. I haven't spent quite enough time with this new record to completely make a verdict, but it's fantastic thus far.
My New Cyndi Lauper Shirt
It's amazing and nothing else needs to be said. Everyone should have this tee in their wardrobe.
Lady Gaga's "Applause" Video & Remixes
Yes, the music video for "Applause" finally came out earlier this week. It's still no "Bad Romance" or "Born This Way" for me, but the song gets a little better with each listen. The video features some standout moments such as the bizarre Gaga-swan hybrid. We can only hope that this is a preview of what she has to offer at the VMA's.
Along with the video, two official "Applause" remixes were released last night. Both were created by the song's original producer, DJ White Shadow. There's an "Electrotech" remix which is nice and all, but the trap version is the real standout.
