In today's bizarre collaboration news,
Iggy Pop and
Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino have teamed up on a new single for HBO's True Blood. The unlikely duo apparently came to be through
Iggy's interest in the series and
Bethany's desire to work with
Iggy. "
Let's Boot And Rally" was written by
Gary Calamar and
James Combs, so neither party came up with the rather simplistic song. The hook is laughable, "
boot and rally boot and rally boot and rally boot and rally", but there's something fun about the song. I've never seen a single episode of True Blood, if that counts for anything.
